Baxter, Moosehead Lake, or White Mountains?

I am staying for 5 nights in Bar Harbor, ME and have 3 nights to stay somewhere else after that. For those three nights, I want to head for the mountains to do some hiking. I would like to see some waterfalls also. Another thing is I want to see a moose. So, I have narrowed it down to the White Mountains area of NH, Moosehead Lake ME, and Baxter SP (Millinocket,ME). I can't decide. The advantage of the White Mountains of NH would be that it would put me considerbly closer to home. But, it dosen't have the remoteness or moose-spotting oprotunities as Moosehead Lake or Baxter SP in Maine. Is there anywhere in the white mountains that is remote and the moose-spotting opprotunities are good? Could anybody reccomend a moose-spotting tour in the White Mountains?
Thanks.

I have seen moose in the Moosehead area. I don't know if anyone operates tours to see them - my cousin just took me out to see them in one of the nearby ponds. Last time I was up there, i just saw one in a farmers field on the way up.

I decided to go to Moosehead Lake. I plan to drive the Golden Road from Greenville to up around Baxter to get views of Mount Kathahin, probably up to where they raft. And maybe do a day hike on the Appalachian Trail. Down in Greenville Moose-watching, Mount Kineo, Moxie Falls, maybe part of Gulf Hagas, and others? I have 3 nights here. If anybody has information of these things or other hikes, let me know.
Thanks-

Driving in that area one summer we had to stop as a big bull moose decided to saunter across the road. He definitely took his time and stopped what little traffic there was. Be alert as you drive on those back country roads! If moose and car get into an argument - moose will win !
