Barrel Tasting, Sonoma
My husband and I are going to try to do Barrel Tasting weekend this year. We have never been to Sonoma and we are looking for lodging recommendations.
This trip is for our wedding anniversary, so something quaint, comfortable, great service, convenient local and affordable is what we are looking for.
Suggestions?

We've stayed at the Sonoma Valley Inn, located right on the square and it was very comfortable, quaint, great service and affordable. ( a BW property.)
We had a a room that opened up to the pool/jacuzzi area which was very nice and there is a very good continental breakfast in the am with your room. The location is wonderful.
I've also admired the Hotel El Dorado, right on the square and across the street from the girl and the fig where we like to lunch when we're in the area. Happy Anniversary and Cheers! www.hoteleldorado.com ***kim***

The owners of Ledson Winery have a new hotel right on the square also which is supposed to be very nice. It was not quite completed last time we were there so I've seen nothing but pics. I believe there is a link from their wine website.

It might be more a matter of taking what's available now. Go to www.wineroad.com and click on accommodations. My favorites are Calderwood in Healdsburg and the Inn on the Plaza (also in Healdsburg).
Have fun, it's a great time to go.

I believe if you belong to the Ledson wine club you can, in turn get deals @ the Hotel. I know we were offered certain discounted dates when it opened & last time I spoke w/them their hospitality people are very good about helping you out if they have availability. I'm sure everything is top dollar for the weekend in question. Our last trip we actually rented a house over in Jenner on the coast & that worked out very well for us (2 couples & 2 singles).
