Bally's in Vegas

What can you tell me about Bally's in Vegas? Are the rooms big enough for four girls? What can you do in Vegas when you're on a budget? What freebies are there? We're a couple of first-timers going Labor Day weekend.

The rooms are good sized and pleasingly decorated, and Bally's is very well situated on the Strip. Bally's usually has an offer which includes a coupon book with worthwhile deals, such as a free bottle of wine at their good Italian restaurant.

If you're on a budget in Vegas, just going to the different hotels and sightseeing can be very enjoyable. Many of the hotels have free shows/entertainment. The fountains in front of the Bellagio should not be missed. There is also the volcano at the Mirage and the Pirate show in front of Treasure Island. At the MGM you can watch the lion cubs. The Rio's Masquerade in the Sky is good also - actually the Mardi Gras Pre-show with the Chippendale dancers is the best part (not sure if they still have this). There is a free shuttle between Harrah's and the Rio. The Forum Shops at Caesars also have a couple of free shows. Speaking of shops - they're almost everywhere. If you can make it downtown, the Fremont Experience nighttime light show is pretty impressive. Pick up a couple of the tourist booklets around town - many have coupons for shows and food. Labor Day weekend will be busy - I'm sure you'll have fun.

Thanks! Any other recommendations? I'll probably book the package next week, anything I should know by then?

I was just at Ballys last weekend. They have the biggest regular rooms on the strip that I have been in.

Walk down to Harrahs and sign up for the club card. They will give you discounts to shows and buffets there and at the Rio. We saw the Scintas for 1/2 price and loved it.

The pirate show has changed at TI and is getting poor reviews. The fountains at Bellagio are outstanding...and free.

There are several people on eBay selling coupons that are a good deal.

Good dueling piano bars in Harrahs and NYNY. NYNY has a cover on weekends, not sure about Harrahs.

You could observe ladies of the evening for free. Hang out near the entrance to Barbary Coast or the bar at Flamingo.

You will have a blast!

Bally's is a great place to stay. The rooms are huge! If you want to gamble cheaply, check out the Babary Coast next door-- nickel video blackjack and poker!

You know, just walking around LV is a trip. The people watching is not to be believed. I love just walking around in the casinos and checking out each hotel. Plan ahead though, b/c it can be a long walk and it is HOT there now. Bellagio's lobby with the glass sculptured cieling is a must, as is their atrium. Must see it. And window shopping all over is fun. Play a few quarters, you never know, you might get lucky. And yes, the fountains are great.

Bally's also has a huge pool, I believe, so you can sit out there and read. Just be sure and apply sun screen. It is a fun, happening town, you will never be bored. Just go and play.
