I was Vegas in Nov (3 yrs since my last visit) and was shocked by how run down Bally's appeared. I did not stay at Bally's but rather next door at Paris, however, was really realy surprised. In fact one of my co-workers and both said it looked like it could be the next hotel to razed. I remember it as being one of the top hotels just a few yrs back. Just goes to show how quickly Vegas changes. I would recommend Paris, Bellagio, or Ceasar's (all same area).

I disagree with David. I have stayed at Bally's at least 4 times and never had a problem nor did I feel it was 'run down'. My last stay there we were in a lovely room, which appeared to be just redone. I have always liked the location of Bally's, close to everything, and its low key, understated approach, rather than the 'in your face' like at NYNY. I recommend it.

I stayed at Bally's last August and the room we had was lovely - big and clean and had a great view over the "Eiffel Tower" and the fountains at Bellagio. The reception area and casino were also clean as were the restaurants and shopping areas. It was in a great location. There's a connection to the Paris hotel and a free tram to MGM and other hotels on the way. I actually liked also, that there wasn't a theme about the hotel.
