My inlaws stayed here in August (we had a family reunion/80th birthday party for my father-in-law) and they all liked their rooms - a living room and full kitchen downstairs and a bedroom upstairs. It's right next to I-40 at the Carlisle exit, but I don't remember hearing freeway noise when we were in their rooms.

This is very close to the park and ride, a plus in my opinion.

Nice to meet you, Mrs. Pickle ;-)
Thanks for the advice.
Sounds like the park 'n ride is a winner.
I really liked what I saw about tent rocks. Should I consider a full day there? Any other place good for photography?
Thanks!

Tent Rocks is not an all day thing. It will take a while to actually drive in and out as the road is not the best. The hike part will take 3 + - hours, depnnding on how you want to do the walk, assuming you all the way up, how long you stay at top, how much you stop etc. [There is also a loop that is less strenuous and is shorter].
