Got back from 5 days in Vegas before the cruise from hell I took on Carnival. Anyhoooo had a BLAST in Vegas. I got a Rialto Suite at Venetian and a Monaco Suite at Monte Carlo. Didn't really eat at any fancy places this time but did at at Valentinos when I was at Venetian at Easter. It was great. I had met up with over 100 people from an internet board I post on and it was too much fun!!!!! Didn't see any shows so I can't help you there but if you have any questions about either hotel let me know!

Was the Monaco Suite a disappointment after staying in the Rialto Suite? (By the way, everybody knows that the Carnival line is the WORST cruise line of them all. Was this your first time with them? Give us the juicy details! Anyway, next time, pay a bit more (or a LOT more) and sail with another line!!)

Yes of course the monaco suite was a dissapointment after the Rialato Suite at Venetian. Also I had just gone to Vegas 3 weeks earlier and stayed at Venetian in a Prima suite as well. So.... But most of the activities I was going to either took place at or were close to the Monte Carlo. Also the room service was bit slower at the Monte then the Venetian which isn't a huge problem but I like to have my coffee in my room before I go down for the morning, rather then getting ready or getting take out coffee.

Yes the carnival cruise was the first (and last) I had taken on that line but I didn't book it.
As far as an internet meet thing goes it was fine. I post on a nice board where I got to know a lot of people and it isn't anonymous so I felt fine going.
