Back Bay, North End, Fanueil Hall, what else?

Any Boston residents care to share the wealth of information? What are the must sees of Boston? Just a little list would do so much ... thanks. 8*>

If you have a car, or even if you don't you might take the train for about a one hour ride to the North Shore. Gloucester and Rockport are lovely and can offer a nice break from the city with coastal charm!

The Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Science (the Omni Theater in particular), the restaurants in the South End, the Aquarium, the museums in Cambridge (Fogg in particular), Harvard Square, the Swan Boats in the Public Gardens (depending on time of year you are there), walking along the Charles/Esplanade, the views from the Prudential Building and the John Hancock tower, Fenway Park, the Isabella Stewart Museum, the Freedom Trail, the Symphony or the Pops, any of the sports teams, Filene's Basement, the Christmas Decorations on the Common, the Christian Science center on Huntington Avenue. This should get you started.

I agree thoroughly with Paul. I'd just add the Christian Science Center, which is near the Prudential, going toward Symphony (I think).

The "Mother Church" is spectacular architecture, which people of any religious tradition can appreciate. But my favorite funky thing to do there is to walk through the Mapparium--it's a huge stained-glass globe that you can walk through. The map is out of date, but it's still fun, particularly if you have kids. See www.tfccs.com/

As in other cities, Boston has the Trolley tours. They are really fun. You see everything at a glance, then you can visit and spend as much time as you want in specific areas. Also, I really like the Aquarium - and there are several good museums around there.
