Babymoon - 3hrs drive or short flight from NJ

My husband and I want to take a week-long babymoon April 7-April 14. We'd like to have 60 degree or higher temps and need some pregnancy-safe activities. We want a chance to relax in semi-seclusion. Also, don't want a 'family' resort - plenty of time for that later - leaning more toward a cozy, romantic place. We love fine dining, would love some spa services, outdoor activities (light hiking, short boat ride, fishing, etc.). We are having tremendous trouble narrowing down. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

When is your baby due?
Ours is on May 14.

We went to Eaglesmere, PA for a long weekend a while back, and stayed at the Eagles Mere Inn. Great rooms, great inn keepers, nice, quite, lots of trails for walking.

I don't know if this fits the 3 hour drive or the 60 degree temps, but have you considered the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV? Upscale and historic hotel in nice setting with lots of activities. You can do lots or not much and just luxuriate in activities that you will (temporarily) miss in the near future such as peaceful gourmet meals, nature walks and sleeping in.

Greenbrier is nice but fits neither 3hr drive nor 60 deg temps. Well, 60 is possible, but not probable. I don't know where within 3 hr drive of NJ WOULD have temps like that in April?

But if you would take the short flight option and take a chance on weather, the Greenbrier is nice. As is the Homestead Resort in Virignia.

Should have added a combo Charleston/Savannah trip is also possible.

Wunderground.com has a trip planner at the bottom right side of their webpage where you can check historic temps/weather anywhere.

Thank you everyone for your generosity...we are now on the fence between the US and Caribbean!

The beaches of South Ft. Walton Beach (near Destin) are beautiful this time of year. You've probably already made your plans by now but if you haven't, check out the WaterColor Inn in Watercolor, FL. It's beautiful, has a spa, great amenities, etc. www.watercolorinn.com

San Juan, PR is a three hour flight from NJ and there are tons of daily flights out of Newark there.

We stayed in the San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino and loved it. Beachside, close to dining, easy cab to old San Juan, spas nearby, etc.
