B&B in Yosemite

Be aware that when these B&Bs advertise themselves as being located in Yosemite, they are not located with Yosemite Valley itself. They could be 40 miles or more outside of the valley. Because you checked into Yosemite Lodge, it sounds as if you'd like to stay in the valley itself (?) If so, just keep calling back or checking the NPS site for all lodgings withing the valley -- they have constant cancellations.

We would like to stay in Yosemite valley, however this B&B claims it is located 30 minutes from the valley in the residential section of Yosemite, right outside of Chinquapin. It sounds quaint, peaceful and close. Has anyone at least stayed in this area? How close is it?

Chinquapin is near Wawona, which is a good 40 minute drive (remember, single lane, twisting mountain roads behind buses and RVs) from the valley. Wawona is a pretty area itself, with the Wawona Hotel and Mariposa Grove of Big Trees close by, plus some good hikes at Chinquapin. But you will have a long drive and then a search for a parking space in the valley, even in September. If you plan to visit the valley most days, try to stay in the valley. Much more convenient. The Lodge usually sells out because that is where they put all the tour bus groups. Check into the cabins at Curry Village, or even the cabins at the Lodge area. But most Lodge rooms are blocked out for the tour groups. I know, because I worked at Yosemite Lodge.
P.S. Some of those private accommodations in the Wawona area are a bit rundown. You'll see when you arrive.

To: quit([email protected]) - Obviously the lady has done some research and is specifically looking for personal experiences with the Peregrine B&B and Chinquapin. She has received no direct responses on this specific B&B and the surrounding area. The only response that she has gotten is a person rambling on about staying in the valley and that Wawona is very far away from there. I'm very familiar with Yosemite and I know that Chinquapin is not near Wawona. Chinquapin is just as close to the valley as it is to Wawona. It is a beautiful area and it would take her half the time to get to the valley as compared to staying in Wawona. I've never stayed in the Peregrine, but I do know a couple who did. They said they had no complaints. It was very well kept, they received attentive service, and they had a wonderful time. On a personal note, you are rude. Could it be that YOU are really yosemite([email protected]) - hmmmm? On another note, you're a miserable *ssh*le. Wait, correction - you're a miserable asshole!!!
