B&B in Carmel

What is the best B&B in Carmel? Privacy and room size are our major considerations, although romance is a factor as we will be staying on our 1st wedding anniversary.

When is the event? If you haven't left enough lead time (at least 6 months) the answer to your inquiry may well be academic.

Our trip will be May 8, 2000, so I hope we have enough time to book somewhere special.
Which B&B's are best?

Check out the Seven Gables Inn or the Green Gables. Both are directly on the Monterey Bay.

Hi Tom,

The Seven Gables is nice, but if you really want to do something spectacular check out the Ventana resort. They have a website, I believe. Enjoy your trip!

Ventan is magnificent but incredibly expensive and not in Carmel.

We stayed at the Cypress Inn(owned by Dian Shore, I beleive) and really enjoyed it...had a room with private entrance that Paul Newman had been in the week prior(enabling my wife tells people that she slept in the same room as Paul Newman).

I you do stay in Carmel, and have rental car, make sure the place that you stay in has parking.

It's in Carmel Valley, and not in Carmel-by-the-Sea, but the Carmel Valley Ranch Resort is incredible.
