Authentic Dude Ranches with Awesome Staff

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a real dude ranch with unique and wonderful staff that offers a "fish out of water" experience for city-slickers. It would be awesome if it is located in or near Texas, but anywhere in the contiguous United States would be great.

Thanks!

Eugene Kilgore wrote the original book of ranch reviews. We've been to a few and all were exactly as described.

His website makes it very easy to hunt for one that matches you:

Try to find one where there is no extra charges for the riding or other basic activities like taking canoes out on your own. It is kind of irritating to have to decide how often you can afford to ride or go fishing. I didn't mind paying extra for river rafting or such, but feel like a dude ranch should include all your riding!.

Our favorites:
Cherokee Park, north of Ft Collins, Colorado
Flying U, in British Columbia

We love the Home Ranch in Clark Colorado-great in the winter as well as summer. All inclusive and excellent.Staff is the same year after year-And we see many of the same guests year after year. That is a sign that this is truly good.
