really need a lot more info to help. only in town one day? how many and age of party? into walking any distance for meal? what foods do you like/dislike? though i have not been to Austin during festival, i'd bet eateries will be crazy busy. that being said, Franklin BBQ is worth any amount of wait IMO. they usually have a pre-order option on their website. but the line is half the fun. Terry Black's BBQ, Micklethwait, Styles Switch are also good choices for BBQ. Cuanto's Tacos, Emmer & Rye, Phoebe's for breakfast, and Bad Bird Biscuit we really enjoy. if your into sweets, Voodoo Donut is outstanding. and that doesn't even touch any drinking spots. hope this helps.

You can use the bus service from airport to Downtown. Also, you can take a taxi to reach Downtown. I will prefer taxi as it is more comfortable and quite fast also. Austin has some of the best restaurants where you can enjoy lunch/dinner like Fresa's, Swedish Hill, Sway Thai, Tiny Boxwoods, Bufalina Due and Elizabeth Street.

Arrive noon Fri Oct 29 and leave Sunday morning. We're 67 and 57 but don't find walking a bit from the Sheraton Austin. We'll use Uber & Lyft if available. We like all food but would like to try some authentic Austin food. And of course we love country music.
