Atlantic City to NYC

What is the least expensive way to get to NYC by public transportation from Atlantic City? I have free airline tickets to Atlantic City but want to spend the time in Manhattan?

Is there a direct bus service, train etc? and what would be the roundtrip cost?

Probably the New Jersey Transit bus to Port Authority Bus Terminal - Bus #319 "ATLANTIC CITY - NEW YORK *EXPRESS*" Most likely quickest too.

I found that but how much does that cost? I can't quite figure out the fare schedule?

Check with Academy Bus, they run buses every 30 minutes from the casinos to the Port Authority in Manhattan. Their website is academybus.com, probably runs about $15 or $20 but takes 3+ hours. It will give you an opportunity to check out one of the boardwalk casino hotels as a fringe benefit. On the way back from Manhattan to the casino, you will be reimbursed nearly the entire round trip fare in cash from the casino you get dropped off at.

I couldn't figure the fare either .. see if there's an email or phone# somewhere on other NJT pages.

I thought about suggesting casino buses too, but I don't think they allow you to do the reverse trip ... after all, it's the casinos subsidizing those buses to pull people INTO AC, not get them out ... but check out Academy anyways.

I took that NJT bus from WildwoodNJ to NYC a few years ago, seems like it was $13 1-way.
