Atlantic City Hotel/Casino

Looking for 1 or 2 nights at a Casino in Atlantic city for the first couple of days in July. Any recommendations? Any suggestions on getting discounted rooms?
Thanks!

We like the Showboat Hotel. Go on their website and look for "Hot Deals". Not sure if there will be any in July, but they're always in the middle of the week.

The Borgatta, hands down..one glitch it's not on the strip in Atlantic City (on the beach.) You can drive to the beach but you won't want to leave the hotel. The hotels in Atlantic City are old and quite in need of a face lift. The night life on the beach (literally) is fun but the Borgatta has it all and it is the newest casino. Good Luck !!

Here's a vote from another Borgata fan.

Borgata is the only place IMO that comes close to Vegas.

I think it's true that the Borgata is the best in Atlantic City. However, the poster asked about suggestions on getting discounted rooms and I'm not sure you can get one at the Borgata (unless you're a high roller). So, I suggested Showboat which has "hot delas".

July is AC's tourist season so getting discounts could be hard. Deals are much better during the week then the weekend.
One of our favorites is the Tropicana (stayed there 2 weeks ago had a blast), it's on the boardwalk and was recently rennovated. The Quarter offers shopping and some great restaurants and bars (Red Square, Carmines, RiRa, Cuba Libre, PF Changs, Etc). Also you are close to the Pier and Trump's Beach Bar.
The Borgata is awesome but it is the most expensive hotel down there.
Also stayed at Resorts which was also recently rennovated. Not as much to do but nice rooms and on the boardwalk.

In the summer, stay near the water - not at the Borgata. There will be a lot happening down at the boardwalk.

Stay mid-week.

Look on Hotwire, Expedia, etc. Summer is obviously high season, so it's harder, but non-casino hotels that are next to the casinos will have specials, but still be higher than off-season.

The Borgata is the best hotel in AC. They do sometimes have specials and their least expensive rooms are quite nice. Also there is a bus that comes every few minutes and takes you to the boardwalk so you don't have to drive. It is very convenient.

But if you want to go to the beach, you probably don't want to ride a bus from the Borgata with all your stuff & then head back wet & full of sand... (just a thought). The hotels on the boardwalk have a system where you can turn in your key when you go swimming, so you don't have to worry about losing it on the beach.
