Beautiful???
No different from rest of the Caribe????
Have you actually been to Aruba AND any other Caribbean island BeBe???
Aruba is VERY different from most of the other Caribbean islands because it's a desert island. Almost devoid of vegetation (scrub grass here and there, divi divi trees), very flat, and downright UGLY!!!
But that's beside the point.
People go to Aruba because it's got the best weather in the Caribbean, great beaches, it's safe, and there's almost no racial strife. It has casinos and some city amenities.
But again, people go for the water sports/beaches and weather.

Ok, my jaw is now back in place after reading BeBe's post. That post is proof positive that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Aruba is the ugliest island I have ever been to. People love it because the hot weather is guaranteed even in January and February. There is always a breeze, gambling is available and the food is good.

The response from BeBe once again raises my concerns and suspicions about people who come to this site and write things about which they have little knowledge.
Statements with an authoritative tone, making it sound as though there can be no doubt about the validity of the writer's comments.
But every once in awhile I know darn well people are dead wrong about what they're saying.....which makes me wonder about the validity of some of the rest of the info.
Oh well, as they say, the price of the info here is certainly right. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Mr/Madam X my thoughts exactly. At first I thought we were going to compare some US location with Aruba, but no, just a question about Aruba here on the US site. Probably need a map that users can click on so they won't have to know their geography.

Hi Lilly. You would likely get more information if you posted your Aruba question on the Caribbean forum. And since there is already a lot of information available on Aruba if you do a search on that forum you will probably get a lot of useful information.
But since I'm already responding I figured I would add my 2 cents. I'm afraid I have to disagree with BeBe as well. Aruba is a very flat, dry, barren island. If you find that attractive then you may find Aruba beautiful. What IS beautiful about Aruba, however, are the beaches. Long stretches of powdery white sand and the beautiful "Caribbean blue" water. And as others have stated you can almost always depend that the weather will be hot and sunny anytime of the year.
But I think my most strenuous disagreement with BeBe is the statement that it is "not much different from other caribbean islands." That's about like saying New York City is not much different from Fargo. I've been to lots of Caribbean islands and they are ALL very different. And Aruba sticks out from the pack as being very Americanized with high rise hotels lining the beaches and fast food restaurants everywhere you turn. If that's what you like that's fine. But just don't expect that the rest of the Caribbean is like that.
As I said, my 2 cents....
