Arizona in April?

Considering a vacation to Tucson and Phoenix to visit family for APril, but would like to go when it's warm enough for the kids to swim. The guidebooks say it should be but I was hoping to hear from someone with firsthand experience. Thnaks,
Martin

April is the best month to visit PHX and Tucson IMO. March is a mixed month, some cool days, some warm days (70's).
Late May brings the 100 degree temps out. In between is April, when the desert 'blooms', and the temps are often the best, 80's and dry.

Thanks, sounds like it's time to book. And I see America West is having a one-day sale today!

Do a search: this same question was discussed a few days ago. It's not a sure bet that it'll be warm enough for swimming. I went to Tucson last April and it snowed when we arrived.

Be aware that there's a big difference in elevation between Phoenix and Tucson. Result: Phoenix (in the valley) should be warm, while Tucson (in the mountains) is iffy.

Swimming in Phoenix in April in a heated pool is no problem. It will not be warm enough if the pool is not heated.

I am an avid pool person and our pool is not heated so we do not swim until mid-May and many people I know do not go in until a bit after that...if the pool is heated, no problem, swim year around. It may be very warm during the day, but nights are still somewhat cool and that keeps the pools too cool except for the penguins...think you will find all hotel pools heated, if it is necessary. Great time of the year to come here.

Martin: Just got back from Tucson, where I swam in the heated hotel pool almost everyday. Air temp was in the 60's. As long as the sun hits the pool area, the swimming will be fine!!
