Arizona

Trying to plan a trip to Arizona in February 2018 for my 70th birthday and to complete my state visit to make 48. Should we stay in Scottsdale or Sedona or elsewhere for a few days. I would love to get a look at the Grand Canyon. Thank you.

I'd go to Grand Canyon and try to stay in the park. It will be cold in February, but you might be able to get lodging in the park.

Sedona would be my second choice, Scottsdale a distant third.

Of course there is a lot more to see in Arizona unless this is just to check off the list - been there-done that.

How long will you be there? Lots to see and do around Tucson, too.

Visit the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Scottsdale is part of the Phoenix sprawl, a smaller LA. Or if you prefer warmer weather, go to Tucson in Southern AZ.

Stay at least a couple of nights in Sedona.
Enchantment Resort, Hyatt, Sedona Rouge or Garland Lodge are my faves.
Stay 1-2 nights in GC...El Tovar

Scottsdale at Four Seasons, Boulder's or Westin Keirland are lovely.

Happy 70th!

We have visited all 50 States.
Since you may be in golf land of Scottsdale, Phoenix is that State's capitol.
We always try to visit a State's capitol
Highly recommend doing that as each usually has a free tour.

It appears you must be part of a group. Call and ask to join a group. I'm sure the rules are very lax.

(Yellowknife, NWT, Canada was the most unusual and tiny).

Also visit Presidents' library. Favorites are Ike and Truman. Least is Ford's
