I won't argue the quality of the U of L football program, but I haven't noticed any major swell of fan support (at least not throughout the state). Though I was at Bengals training camp a couple of weekends ago and the girls working the parking lot entrance were on the verge of heart attacks because Rick Pitino had just come through (Louisville, but still basketball!!).

lol rooster. No, you won't see it our "in the state". But then, you won't see many teeth either. Funny thing is that most of the die hard UK fans never finished the 8th grade.

U of L has had a pretty good football program going back to the Schnellenberger-era. As a former Louisville resident (one of only two semi-northern cities I would ever live in btw) those UK fans can be a tad obnoxious....(vast understatement, but trying to be nice)...

Go OSU! Go Texas! I can't decide who to root for but it's going to be a good game.

I wonder if amwosu is there?

I saw a bunch of red and white Ohio jerseys in San Antonio today. I'm sure Austin is SRO and we got the spill over.

I had to take a break from the game. This is too stressful! <)

When my Ravens were in the Super Bowl my husband and I flew to Tampa and tried to get to the game We had $1000 each in our pocket, but ended up with several hundred "Purple" fans at a neat bar in Tampa, but SADLY, never got to see the wonderful game. I am still sad about missing it, but we got home with $2000. We have been corporate guests at the Final Four, last game of Cal"s and the finals of the US Open, so.. when we beat the Bengals for AFC north champs, I will find a way to follow the Ravens all the way!!

this is not for me, but I must tip my hat to kuranosuke (from the Asia board, who posted on the hawaii-alabama game thread). He flew from Hawaii to Alabama just for the game!

I was a cheerleader at OSU and travel "home" to Columbus every year to cheer at the first football game of the season before the students return to school. Its a pretty good motivator to eat healthy when you gotta wear shorts on the field with 100,000+ in attendance.

I have tickets to the Michigan game this year and will be involved with a scholarship fundraiser with the alumni band/cheerleaders the night before the game. Hope I'm not too hung over to enjoy the game. I'm such a lightweight in my middle age.

Sometimes I drive to Columbus even when I don't have tix just to tailgate with friends, pregame at the Hiney Gate party at the Lane Ave. Holiday Inn to listen to the Danger Brothers (this is their 25th anniversary of playing the party), then hit the Varsity Club after the game is over.

I just walked into my boss' office yesterday and told her that if "we" make it to the national championship game in AZ I'm likely to go the game. As a teacher I can't take that day off as it is the first day back from winter break so I'll get a letter put in my file, whatever that means. (emd- I didn't go to the Texas game tonight but I have friends that went. Hopefully, they're still alive.).

I felt bad for the freshman Texas Quarterback, his second outing, but at least he probably learned a lot. OSU is amazing.

Went to Jets-Bucs pre-season in Tokyo a few years ago... lots of other Bucs fans on the same flight... great tip over... a trip never to be forgotten.... Quite interesting to see how everyone there was really into the game... didn't realize football was so popular in Japan... maybe jsut a novelty ?!?!

My daughter went to the Home Opener of the St. Louis Rams today - tailgating and all.

Me?,,...I have no inclination to even turn on the radio or tv to see who is winninf/won! Dont pelt me but I hate the game.

Army-Navy.
However, should the Irish manage to get by all the big boys they play (unlike many), the USC game on 25 Nov should seriously wake up echos of 28 Nov 1964.

Budman,
Muchas gracias, but we shall just be back from AR and CL and preparing to go to the Costalegre for Dec.
If mom and dad were still living in Haddonfield, NJ, we would be there - great part of the world for Thanksgiving and still have AA FF miles.
Best part - nobody really cares who wins the Army-Navy game 'cuz it's such fun.
Finally, I'll never forget that slip and fall v USC as long as I live.
