are there any other travel boards?

I like Fodors and it is functioning much better than in the past. I was wondering if there are any other travel boards on the net that are wide ranging and informative.

frommers.com has a lot less traffic, but there is still a lot of good information if you look through the past discussions.

I had found Frommers before ever finding Fodors. But Keith is right about a lot less traffic. I still go back there from time to time. At one point I went back and checked a couple things and found my own post nearly three years ago, the last one on a subject. And it's far less user friendly. Several people had mentioned AOL, and while I'm no longer on AOL, when I was I found it a difficult site to use. Lonely Planet is a good site with a lot of activity, but much more for backpackers and "youngsters" than for me.

Sorry, LilMsFoodie, if there's anything even half as good as this site, I haven't found it yet.

Lonely Planet has travel boards that get a fair amount of traffic.

Not really quite in message board format, so you can't open "where would you...." type discussions, but the user reviews of specific places at www.tripadvisor.com are numerous, interesting and serve much the same function, especially if the question is a choice of accommodations where you've chosen to go.

If you are looking for restaurant suggestions to complement your travel plans, go to chowhound.com.

AOL has the most trafficked and categorized travel boards available with some of the most knowledgeable people. I can't see how they are hard to use.

I find that the reviews on Trip Advisor are too all over the place to be much use. Successive reviews will say the exact opposite.

If that happens here, I can click on the poster's name and get a feel for their bias, to decide whose comments to give the most weight too.
