Marion KY, and Land Between the Lakes

Mt family and I plan a day trip from southern Illinois to the Amish area around Marion and then to the Land Between the Lakes. I have noticed a couple of places in tour guides, Patti's 1880's Settlement and Golden Pond, around the Land Between the Lakes. Are they worth the stop? Anybody been there that can tell us how their experience was? Thanks for your help

Also, is it worth the trip to Marion to visit the Amish shops?

The settlement is a must-do. Patti's is one of the best restaurants in Western KY.

Haven't been to either the settlement or Patti's but I have friends who camp for long periods of time around that area and they rave about Patti's and said it has the best pork chops in the world.
We are about 1-1/2 hours from there and hope to get there this summer.
Enjoy your trip.

Hope you had a good time, if you haven't gone yet Patti's is a must. The lodge at Barkley Lake, Cadiz has such a pretty view this time of the year(Oct.)you would love it. They have a boat trip($20) that leaves from the lodge and would make it fun, just watch for the weather report. It ranges from the 80's to 40's. You can't beat a 70 degree day in the fall in Western Kentucky on the lake.
