Aqualina

My husband and I are considering Aqualina Resort (Rosewood) for a vacation. We have stayed in South Beach and in Palm Beach and are looking for a change. We are considering Aqualina along with Fisher Island. I know very little about both! Please advise...

Fisher Island is its own island - one of the richest enclaves in the US. It is beautiful. However, to do anything on the mainland, you need to get on a ferry to get back and forth, so it might be a bit more of a hassle. If you plan on staying and eating at the resort all the time, though, it wouldn't be a problem. I would make sure to understand what amenities specifically are available to resort guests versus residents (such as pools, golf carts, club restaurants).

All I know about Aqualina is that it is in Sunny Isles which is a very nice area, but nowhere near the level of exclusivity that Fisher Island offers. There are definitely more places to eat around Sunny Isles, and going anywhere just involves driving. It seems like a beautiful, new resort.

Thank you for the good advice about Fisher Island. I think that we will take it off the list. The other place we just added to our list is The Breakers. I know it is in Palm Beach...we've always stayed at the Four Seasons though and The Breakers appears to have gone through a major renovation and is in great proximity to Palm Beach.

The Breakers is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful location not too far from Worth Avenue for fabulous shopping. Lots of great restaurants nearby too. Another choice would be the Ritz Carlton whiich is just south of Palm Beach. It was redone this past year and is suppose to be a knockout. It's location is somewhat more isolated.

Ohhh...I don't know...I guess I'm wondering about the area that Acqualina is in and the restaurant situation. I think it is very close to Bal Harbour though. We love the Rosewood Hotel chain and I have to believe this one is as spectacular as the others we've stayed in! Thanks...I'm glad you're parents love it.
