Anyone seen Tom Jones lately?

He is in LV when we are there this week. Anyone seen his show lately? Does he still have a voice? Is the show good? We thought he would be a classic to see in Las Vegas. We would LOVE to see Wayne Newton, but he is dark both nights we are there. Or if you have any other great shows to recommend. We are there this Thursday and Friday night. Thanks.

He was on the Kumars a couple of nights ago but I think it was taped in '02 or '03. Sounded okay, though.

We saw him about 2 years ago and he was great! Can you believe a woman still threw her bra up on stage after all these years? lol. Would definitely pay to see him again. He preformed at a local Italian bar my dad frequents and sang with a cigar and a bottle of champagne for 6 hours straight a few years ago.... he's a great guy. This was at Cappazoli's. He hasn't been back for a while though because the word was getting out that he liked to hang out there.

Heavens, if you come back to this thread I just wanted to let you know that the new restaurant/lounge at the top of THE Hotel at the Mandaly Bay is supposed to be good on the weekends.... The restaurant closes at midnight and it becomes more like a night club, and open to the wee hours, with great strip views also.

My hair stylist told me this, who is still single and knows all the hip places in town Enjoy.

Go, absolutely. I saw Tom last spring here in Portland, and he was great. Enthusiastic audience, and yes, he still has the voice. Go see the classics while you can.

Here is my follow up on TJ. He was so great. We really enjoyed his show. He is handsome, virile, humorous, pokes fun at his "sex symbol" status, and has a good time with his band. No electro show or gimmicks, just TJ's signature songs and moves. We loved it. My H said it was one of the best shows that we have ever seen. Definately CLASSIC Las Vegas. AND only $70 for seats in a booth, about 6th row back, dead center in front of TJ. We were thrilled. AND bought his Reloaded CD after the show.

About the new club on top of Mandalay Bay, which is called "The Mix", we didn't go there. We were going to, but instead we went into the very exclusive "Foundation" Room at the top of the other tower. A friend of ours has a club membership to another club that is connected with the Foundation Room. We made friends with the "door girl" who lets you up the elevator and she got us passes to go up.

Beautiful club. You walk in and it looks like a very rich sheik's private tent. But the view on the terrace outside, all the way up the center of strip about 40 stories up was truly "breathtaking". We didn't make the meal because my H's cough was getting worse, but our friend's said the food was outstanding.

He did an album a few years ago, pairing up with current acts, and it didn't sound like he was trying too hard. I think his "sex Bomb" was used as a theme for a short-lived but snappy tv show- proving his voice has appeal to Gen X/Next too, so I think that would make it a great and lively show. In radio interviews, he is very funny and down-to-earth ( he's also a grandfather). I've seen him sing on late-night and he stillhas his voice, and some moves. I was quite young when women were tossing garments onto the stage. Let us know if you go!
