Staying at Home with the blended family. Cooking dinner at my new home with my not so stable MIL who fights with everyone. Next year I will be going away on a short mini-vacation for this holiday. Guaranteed!!

Just the five of us for dinner in Boulder County,Co; things will change for us in the coming year, so we'll enjoy this Thanksgiving with "the kids".One of ours is going to NYC to become a Fireman; another will move to Austin,TX. Ah, milestones...

We are going to Montreal(from NYC). Got a fabulous deal at a new boutique hotel called the Nelligan. 3 nts in a deluxe loft suite, fireplace, view, king size bed, turn down service, wine & cheese from 5 to 7, two 1/2 hr in-room massages, a bottle of champagne, free shuttle to downtown, and a 5 course dinner at a great french restaurant (Les Remparts) including service--ALL FOR $560 US dollars, less the 8.5% VAT that we get back at the end. Even the airfare was reasonable. Never been to Montreal. Looking forward to it. Even the snow! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hubby and I are escaping the family this Thanksgiving and are going to Boston for 4 nights, staying at XV Beacon (won on luxurylink) and eating Thanksgiving dinner at The Federalist.

Seattle actually, I arrive in Seattle from England the day after thanksgiving which is very interesting for me. Any events or places I should see on such an auspicious weekend? Or does everyone go home and spend time with their families like Christmas here in England?

Traveling...not really, just about 20 minutes from my house. Interesting, you bet!
I'll be having dinner with the 'Bishop' and his large disfuntional family! One of his nieces had her boyfriend 'stolen' from her by her daughter...someone will show up pregnant and unwed....it's always interesting but I always feel so sorry for the Bishop.

Skiing, baby! Driving from Denver to ski during the holiday tomorrow while everyone else is feasting, then chowing down on Friday while everyone else is skiiing. We'll have the place to ourselves, woohoo!

Hanging around for a little gobble gobble and then taking off for Chile with my wife.
We begin in Vina Del Mar, the coastal resort located about 1.5 hours drive outside Santiago. Somehow I intend to struggle through 26.2 miles of headwinds while carrying an extra 50 pounds around the middle to complete the Vina Del Mar Marathon to begin the trip.
If I do not die or end up in the hospital (this is my third marathon this year but I was in better shape for the first two), then it is off to the Atacama Desert in Northern Chile, about a 2 hour flight from Santiago. The Atacama Desert is the driest desert in the world and is at about an 8,000' elevation with an active volcano towering above an additional 10,000' (18,000' total) along with other mountains. We will celebrate my wife's 30th birthday amidst the Tatio Geysers, which spew before sunrise at 4:30AM until about 7AM each morning creating a surreal sunrise. Other activities will include hiking, horseback riding, seeing archaelogical ruins, etc.
From there we will return to Santiago and spend three nights, enjoying vineyards one day and my wife's only opportunity for good shopping during this trip during our brief stay in the City.
Then, the highlight of the trip?, takes us to Patagonia, to Torres Del Paine National Park. www.lastorres.com
We have five nights in Patagonia where we will be amongst some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.
