Well, thanks, eks. I have to say, I'm feeling less and less 'lovely' every day. I was told there were 'so many people' at the house after the funeral. I have to wonder why, with so many friends, she can't find someone to do this favour. Or why both her son and daughter-in-law have to go to the kids' concert. They're teens, not little kids, and they've been in a million concerts. Can't one parent miss one on this occasion?
Anyway, I think I'm going to book ollies tomorrow, so thanks for that suggestion.

Uber does not have a website -- it's a free app that you download on a smartphone. Starting this week you can also also use Facebook messenger to contact Uber once you download the app.
You cannot order an Uber more than a few minutes in advance. When your order is accepted, you find out the driver's name, license plate and phone number, as well as estimated time of arrival and estimated fare. You can then call the driver to let him or her know where you're standing. In most airports, it is much easier to meet on the departure level rather than at baggage claim. I just checked a live fare calculator site and it shows $37 for an UberX from LGA to Woodmere right now, which is 6:15pm in NYC. When I checked last night it was lower.

If you're not used to using Uber, you should probably stick to a taxi or car service.
I'm sure your visit is much appreciated. In your cousin's defense, it's a tremendous hassle to pick someone up at LGA. I am from NY and still travel there often. Friends and family who routinely pick me up at JFK and Newark see LGA as a nightmare because you cannot wait at the curb for even a minute and all the lots are often full. (There are secret spots to wait at JFK.)

Hi crosscheck,
This is where I got the uber quote:
https://www.uber.com/cities/new-york
I think I'm going to stick with ollies. I've never used uber and I don't think this is the time I want to try it.
I don't think I've ever landed at LGA but it was the best fare at the best times (WestJet). Generally, when we fly to NY from Toronto we fly Porter and land in Newark because we're staying in Manhattan. I've only been to her home in LI once before and it followed a Manhattan visit so we went out there by train.
Thanks again, everyone.
