I will be in Atlantic City for meetings this week, and renting a car....(flying in to and out of Philly.) I am traveling alone, and have to stay an extra day before catching my flight home......Does anyone have any suggestions on a "must see" place I should go with the spare time I will have? My meetings are over by 10:00 A.M. on Friday and I do not fly out until 8 A.M. on Saturday? I'm not a big gambler, but I do love the beach.....I have not booked a room for Fri night yet...so I am flexible there too. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Dottie .....running out of time...

Being born and raised in this area, the place that I take all of my friends and relatives is Longwood Gardens. This is always the highlight of their trip--not to be missed.

If you have any interest in American history, head for Independence Hall, and see the actual room where the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights were all written.

Not a "must see," but do have a real cheese steak while in the area. If you're daring, eat some scrapple for breakfast.

Jean and Paul gave you good advice. If you can book a room in Philadelphia you'll be much closer to the airport and have the luxury of seeing a bit of our city. Our Art Museum is terrific as is the Rodin Museum within close proximity to Art Museum.

Philly is definitely worth a visit if you can get straight up there Friday. You could see the historic areas and then have dinner in Old City. If you decide to stay at the shore I would drive down to Ocean City maybe stopping for a quick visit to Lucy the Margate elephant. OC is very close to Atlantic City. It's a great beach town and there's nothing better than spending some time at the 9th St beach then walking "the boards". Stop at Shrivers for Salt Water Taffy and don't miss Johnson's carmel corn. It is a much nicer atmosphere than Atlantic City!

If you want to spend a day at the NJ
shore beach, stay in Margate instead.
There a few cafes next to Lucy the Elephant, they serve great food. Try
to get a room in Margate, the atmosphere
there is very quiet but the beaches are
the best and it is more upscale than other places down the NJ shore.
