Another train question Northeast Philly to NYC

We are staying with family in Huntingdon Valley. We want to take SEPTA to Trenton. The SEPTA train that runs from Bethayres goes to West Trenton but I don't think that is the same as the Trenton station where we could pick up NJ Transit into Penn Station. Am I right?

That is correct. West Trenton is on the R3 line. It terminates there. There is no direct connection to the Northeast Coridor NJ Transit train at the Trenton station.
You need to take the R7 line to Trenton. Maybe you can park at Levittown or Bristol.
Another option would be to drive to Hamilton on the NJ transit line . There is a large park n ride
garage at the station and then you do not have to change trains.
go to NJ transit Northeast Line to find schedule:

Meant to say: there is no direct connection to NJ transit at the West Trenton station.

From Northeast Phila. we always drive to Hamilton station ( it's brighter and nicer than Trenton) and take NJT from there to NY. It is not at all expensive and is an easy ride.
