This is a question for those folks who have been on a Pink Jeep tour during December.

What's the best time to go - early morning, midday, or late afternoon?

I am thinking of doing a 3.30 trip (the sun sets about 5.20)

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I went in the early afternoon in late September, but...

The guide told us the sunset is beautiful out there, and I believe her.

It was chilly in the morning in Sedona when I went, so in December I'd probably wait for the sun to be up.

Just my 2 cents. Have fun - it is a great ride!

Sorry, I meant for the sun to be up for awhile (like don't take the first tour of the day).

I think the sunset one would be great.

I didn't have a choice of times since I was on a bus tour. I think I went around 1PM in late May. I was worried that it would be too hot but they said the hottest part of the day is around 3PM. Since you are going in December, being able to see a sunset would be wonderful.

I didn't go in Dec, but I did take the last tour of the day last month to have the beginning of the sunset. The rocks get a beautiful pink glow on them as the sun sets. The day I went, there were thunder clouds in the sky, so it would probably be even more beautiful on a clear day.
