I really like O'Leary's in Eastport for nice seafood. Pusser's waterfront bar is fun for drinks.

Hi cd,

I remember liking my clam chowder reasonably well at Middleton's Tavern but what made it particularly special to me was the memorabilia (some older manifestations of the United States flag I'd never seen before, for example) and knowing that Ben Franklin and George Washington had stopped there back in the day (I hope I've remember the correct founding fathers that were there).

Best wishes, Daniel

Thanks Daniel! I had read that George Washington was thrown out for being too rowdy(that might or might not be true but did not know about Ben Franklin, thanks again, I love history!

Restaurants I enjoyed in Annapolis included Carrol's Creek and O'Leary's Seafood immediately across the bridge in Eastport, Chick and Ruth's Delly, and (surprisingly) Galway Bay Irish Restaurant and Pub for crab cakes. Also Annapolis Ice Cream Company.

I know that you asked your question a few weeks ago, and so might have already planned your trip, but I just wanted to point out that there are a LOT of people who come into town for the Boat Show.

The restaurants will be crowded, most likely, and so you have two choices: to make a reservation, or to simply stroll around downtown and read menus while checking out the crowds.

There are MANY restaurants downtown, and the whole thing is very walkable. Downtown Annapolis proper is actually quite small, and the restaurants listed above are no more than a 10 minute walk one to another. From the Mariott, everything is incredibly convenient.

The places that you've been suggested vary greatly in terms of character. Chick and Ruth's, for example, is a very casual family dining place (nice for brunch!), while Galway Bay is a little more formal and traditional.

Finally, don't forget about West Street. There are a number of cute, delicious and affordable places to eat there as well. West Street is at most an eight minute walk from the Mariott, and it's got a slightly different feel than Main Street/the Docks.

Enjoy!

If you're a beer lover, try Rams Head Tavern on west street. Their Genius Stout, if they have it, is fantastic. Also Fordham Lager, Copperhead Ale, and Tavern Ale.

Welcome to Annapolis. We went to the Boat Show yesterday and had a wonderful time.
Regarding retaurants, I have to admit that my meal at Pussers yesterday was very disapointing. I have always had good food there however if I had a do-over I would skip it.
The Severn Inn is a beautiful place, especially outdoors just bring a jacket if you go in the evening.

We did enjoy eating at the Middleton Tavern right downtown. The reviews are all over the place but what we liked was the history of the Tavern listed above.

Oh, and one place we loved was Chick and Ruth's Delly. The crab cakes were really good! This is a little dive that offers a 6 pound milkshake! We saw 2 young men trying to drink them! Funny, funny, funny!
