An "R & R" Resort Needed...

Desparately need a break from the "race". I'd like to go somewhere with my 13 y/o daughter for a long weekend. Ideally a mid west resort, we're escaping NYC. Looking for somewhere on the high end side... we like our luxuries. Somewhere we can get some fresh air and views we aren't used to living in the city. Spa is option but shes young so not mandatory. We enjoyed Mirval Spa looking for something similar. Suggestions please!

I don't know what Mirval Spa is but I can't think of a place that better fits your description than the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. http://www.broadmoor.com/

It is a first-class resort and Colorado springs is, in my view, just short of heaven.

We just got back 5 magical days at Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix. We have been to a lot of excellent hotels around the world and this place is at the top of the list. It is small and is the place to kick back and relax. Luxury is it's middle name.

[Not sure if Phoenix is what you consider mid west. ]

you got lots of suggestions on your other thread http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...1&tid=35096081 -- even though the title "Help!!!" is awfully obscure.

A suggestion for future posts: neither one of your thread titles really say what you want -- though this one is MILES better than "Help!!!"

I don't think you need to start yet another thread but something like "Midwest resort recommendation for Mother/Daughter long weekend?" would have told folks what you are looking for.

Couldn't agree more with the Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs which is so wonderful and great for a 13 year old too..

Royal Palms in Phoenix is one of those great resorts that really caters to R & R..
I don't how it is with teens..
I would consider it somewhat Mid-West..

Hi Debi..
Did you do a TR?
Glad you had a 'magical' time!
