Amex Gold Card Presales
Does anyone think the Amex Gold Card Presale is advantageous?? I am trying to get tickets to The Producers in Atlanta in April. The seats that are available right now do not appear to be so great. The sale opens to general public on February 1st. Should I just wait and see what happens. What has your experience been with the Amex Gold Card presales?
Thanks Patrick for answering this question for me on a previous post!!!

The advantage of having a Amex Gold Card is that you will have some opportunities to get tickets in advance. I have a gold card and have gotten tickets twice. Both times, they were better seats than I would have gotten had I waited for the regular sale. However, I have had a gold card for years and didn't get it just for this benefit and doubt if I would have gotten the card for this reason alone.

The post of mine that iceeu2 refers to bears repeating, but his time in a little more detail.
I attempted twice to use an AMEX gold card for special prebooking. Once was for the Producers in Los Angeles, pre-opening. AMEX offered sales before it went on sale to the general public. I called and was not happy with the tickets offered -- pretty far back orchestra and very much to the sides. So I gave up, but when the general sales opened up a couple weeks later, I got wonderful seats via Telecharge or Ticketmaster-first row mezzanine --my favorites. I mentioned with surprise that the AMEX tickets weren't so good and the girl responded that yes, certain blocks are pulled for those sales and they often aren't the best.
Last year I again tried to use the card for special sales for The Hollywood Bowl. But when I checked the regular availability I was able to get considerably better seats from the general sales. (This time, the public sales had already started at the same time as the gold card special).

HowardR...I already have a gold card, but the seats that are available right now with the pre-sales are not that great of seats. I was wondering just what Patrick has confirmed...they give certain blocks for presale and perhaps I would be better to wait until they go on sale to the general public.
I don't mind paying the price for a good seat, but its really gonna make me aggravated to sit 33 rows back right of stage(that's whats best available with presale) when I may be able to get 10 rows back center if I wait.
Just wondering whether to wait and see or jump on the tickets now.
