To start bold text, type a "<", then a "b", then a ">"; remove quotes, no spaces.

To end bold text, type a "<", then a "/", then a "b", then a ">"; remove quotes, no spaces.

Emphasis without the dreaded ALL-CAPS SHOUTING!!

Jason--thats exactly what I disliked about Cancun--you travel to Mexico and find what might just as well be Miami Beach! I don't want to arrive in a new country that is chock full of other American tourists, all American hotel chains (right down to the atrium lobbied Hyatt), and restuarants. Downtown, amazingly had retained some of what it was (at least when we went) and Tulum and Xcaret were far more enjoyable because for the first time in that trip, we actually felt as if we'd left the US and caught a hint of what Mexico away from the border cities and Acapulco and Cancun might be like. Acapulco was a bit better than Cancun, but not by much.

The only un-Americanized aspect of the Cancun trip was being hit by a named tropical storm the day we were leaving, having received virtually no advanced warning there was even a tropical system in the vicinity, and having the plane depart despite the wind and horizontal rain. At that point I would have welcomed a little more Americanization!
