Ambassador Hotel in New Orleans

Any comments please on this hotel and it's location? Is it close to Harrah's?

It is indeed close to Harrah's...just a couple of blocks away, in fact. It's gotten good reviews on other travel boards in terms of room quality, but apparently service has been an issue with some guests. The hotel's relatively new (1-2 years) so those kinks can be expected sometimes. Please let us know if you like it!

Well John, we weren't too thrilled with our stay at the Ambassador Hotel this past weekend. You have to keep in mind that the place used to be a coffee warehouse remodeled into a hotel. Not much insulation, so needless to say you can hear noise (people walking, stomping, etc.)outside your door and above and below your room. The rooms are not fancy at all. We ordered breakfast by roomservice and they had to come back up to our room 3 times, no condiments, silverware, drink, very poor service. Hot water in the shower, but the water trickles out. Now on the up side; the hotel is in a good location, very close to Harrah's, the RiverWalk, and Mother's Cafe. Thank goodness we didn't pay over the special $45/night rate, it wouldn't have been worth it. To sum it all up, if you like staying at Motel 6 or LaQuinta or some place like that then you should be OK with this place. Besides, this trip we didn't spend much time in the room at all.

$45!?!? WOW. In New Orleans, that's a VERY cheap rate. I'm sorry to hear about the service problems even though I was afraid that might happen. At least the cheap rate makes it feel a little better, huh!?!? I'm surprised to hear about the room quality...I wonder if they have some deluxe rooms as well?
