Alyeska

My wife and I are going to Ak in April. We are looking for a slow relaxing trip. We are planning to stay at the Alyeska Ski Resort for five nights. We are going to ski 2 - 3 days. We are looking for some other activities that don't require too much travel. I would like to do a day snow mobiling. My wife wants to do a horse- drawn sleigh ride one evening. Does anyone have suggestions for vendors for these or other activities? All suggestions are appreciated.

Where in April?? Makes a big difference if early - the better. If of interest- head to Seward and consider a gray whale watch?? Be sure the snowmobile trips will be still running. I was there end of last March and they were ending out of Girdwood. There isn't much else in Girdwood? Will you have a car??

We arrive April 5th and leave the 11th. I spoke with one snowmobiling company that said April is a "great" month for snow mobiling.

Just hope there's enough snow. It's been a crummy winter so far, but I heard it was snowing (finally) in Anch. yesterday.

Good luck with the snow. It does look shaky now, but there's plenty of time for those big Feb.-March storms to blow in.
