alternatives to Chicago O'Hare parking

9 of us (with 2 cars) are flying from O'Hare airport to Anchorage and will be gone 16 days. This will really add up in cost. Its also very expensive for us to take a shuttle from Champaign for all of us and doesn't save us any $. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place to park outside of O'Hare for that long of time that would shuttle us in for a smaller fee?

Do a search on "park and ohare" and you get lots of options for services near the airport. You park with them and they shuttle you to O'Hare. We used one last year (sorry, can't remember the name) and were very pleased with the service.

Have a good trip!

There is a place called park and fly that offers this service. Some of the Hotels in the area do as well but that may require a nights stay.

How much is the bus shuttle? I assume that there is one. Given the cost of gas plus parking, tolls and aggravation, that may have potential.

If I remember correctly, there was an article in this Sunday's Chicago Tribune which talked about a few alternatives for parking at O'hare. One which might work for you is staying at a local hotel for a stay and park package. Essentially, you stay one night and you can park for free for 15 days (probably a small fee for your 16th day). I believe the Ramada and few others have these programs. You may also want to check out parking at the Thrifty car rental lot. They have good rates (under $10/day) and will valet park your car for you at their lot.

If you join the Marriott Rewards program (which costs nothing), you can park at the Courtyard O'Hare for $50. We've done it for as long as 19 days.

If you have an early morning flight, and need to saty the night, the park & fly program is $30 more than a standard room. They have a free shuttle to/from the airport.

The article I was referring to is on the Chicagotribune.com web site. It is called "In search of an airport parking bargain" and deals specifically with O'hare.

It seems I can always go here and receive great answers to my questions. I'm going to check out the Marriott Rewards Program first since we have that and that's a great price! We also have a Sheraton card so I guess I should see if there's one at OHare to check out too.
SusanM did you mean search here on fodors using "park and ohare" or google?
placeu2, what bus shuttle were you referring to? Where would we catch it?
travel77-I am looking for the Chicago Trib article and didn't find it on the web but called the library which is next door to work and they will see if they have it. Thanks!

abram is right. the marriott deal is the way to go, unless you want to stay overnight. $50 can't be beat, and the lot is only 2.5 miles away. many other hotels offer the park and stay, but I haven't found any that offer just the parking. great suggestion, abram!

Unfortuntely it looks like the Marriott lot is full when we need it. They said there is a conference there. $8 a day at the Ramada was the best I could find so far which adds up for 16 days but is better than the airport rate.
