All-inclusive family oriented resorts
Seemingly these are much more common in Europe. I'm looking for some possibilities in the South East - TX, LA, FL, Mississippi, Alabama....like a Club Med for families type deal. Anyone?

Leahinsc - I never heard of any true "all-inclusives" in the U.S. (although there is a resort in Hawaii that includes everything except alcoholic beverages). I'm not positive, but I think it might have something to do with the State's alcohol beverage laws.

I'm not thinking of the all-inclusive in terms of alcohol but more for meals. There are many resorts of this type which cater to families w/ kids in Europe with all sorts of activities like pools, playrooms etc and am having trouble finding similar in US.

There are some minus alcohol with all food etc. on farms and in log cabin community with party halls etc. in MI, but they are summer only and I know of none like this in the SW. In MI, you pay by age of children, number of people total and room or cabin level. Everyone eats in a huge farmhouse dining room. Farm adventures, swimming etc. and sports during the day and at night adult and teen socials, games, or dances etc.
I've always wondered why they aren't all over the USA. Probably because of liquor, but also other individualistic issues. My kids thought they were heaven- better than Disney World.
