Thanks Debi and furledleader,
We already booked a room in Ouray but tips about restaurants and things to see are welcome.
We (41 & 42) are traveling with my parents (67).
Before Ouray we have a night at Monument Valley (booked) and a night in Cortez or Durango (not booked)
So we have all day to travel to Ouray with a stop in Silverton.
The route to Moab is exactly the route you discripted so that's going to be alright. ;-)
We're looking forward to it...

While you are in Silverton you may want to take a jeep tour into the high country to see some of the mining history that is such a big part of Silverton's history. In June you may not be able to go as far as there may still be snow on some of the roads.
