Alcatrez sold out
Alcatrez is sold out but the combo/Angel Island is still available. I'm traveling with 4 people (one disabled person) and don't have the 5 hours to spare. Is it possible to just go to Alcatrez with that ticket? They all really want to go and I don't see any other way around it.

>>Is it possible to just go to Alcatrez with that ticket?><blue>Please understand that the purchase of the Alcatraz & Angel Island Combination Tour does not give the option of whether to go to Alcatraz or Angel Island first. There are a total of 250 tickets sold for this tour each day that it operates. Tickets are sold on a first come first served basis only. The first 125 visitors purchasing tickets go to Alcatraz Island first and then on to Angel Island State Park. The second 125 visitors purchasing tickets go to Angel Island State Park first and then on to Alcatraz Island. This tour does not offer an Angel Island-only or Alcatraz-only option. There are no refunds for unused portions of the Alcatraz & Angel Island Combination Tour. There is no way to request a preference for the first stop on the tour.
The tour takes about 6 hours to complete. During the winter months, this tour may not be offered during the weekdays.</blue>

Have you looked at other resellers, some combine things like a hop on hop off bus tour or pass which is spearate from Alcatraz, or a tour of the Ferry Building. They will be much shorter than Angel island and Alcatraz.

As far as I know there are no resellers that only sell Alcatraz tix--the whole point is to make money by combining tix with something else. If you must get tix, the best bet therefore is to combine with something short, or something that you can use independently. IMHO The worst choice would be the Angel Island/Alcatraz combo.
BTW I am not touting resellers, I just happen to know a fair amount about this because I have a client that has a contract for Alcatraz tix, which it then bundles for certain resellers.

I don't get Alcatraz, I'm sorry, though no criticism of those who do.
The ferry to Tiburon and the ferry to Sausalito have beautiful views, and both towns are lovely places to visit (and eat) when you arrive.
Maybe I'll go get a lottery ticket so I can buy a house in Tiburon when I win. It's the kind of place you will want to move to.
