Alaska vacation 2019

My wife and I are planning a vacation to Alaska in 2019. We would like advise for the best itinerary for 14 day stay.
We would prefer more intimate tours with local guides. We have no specific date that we have to plan around.

We did a Trafalgar land only tour last summer... it eliminates the transportation issues, includes several attractions, Denali, and a great ride on the Alaskan Railroad , and gives you a framework that you can add onto... we added a glacier air tour. .. some people say it's pricey, but it was perfect and extremely easy... have fun...

Welcome to Fodor's!

This is honestly too big a question. Alaska is a huge state, with numerous distinct regions and a relatively tiny road system. There is no one "best" itinerary; you can't even scratch the surface in 14 days, so you're going to have to do some research on your own to narrow things down. Start with the State tourism office's website - https://www.travelalaska.com/ - and move on from there.

Mountains, glaciers, land and marine wildlife, Native culture, arctic and rain forest wilderness, historic gold rush towns, islands, salmon fishing... Like I say, it's big.

Take a look at a few Alaska tour itineraries to see the general plan they follow. .. most include Denali, some sort of glacier tour, mountains, and wildlife...
