Alaska Honeymoon adventure
Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me plan my honeymoon adventure in alaska in early august. we would like to go kayaking in kenai and then also see denali. we are looking for a 7 day itinerary with some cool B&B, great scenery, and maybe some camping. Rafting is also a plus. I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks a lot.

Repete turned us on to this, and if he sees your post, he can give you more good information.
We did an overnight kayak trip in the Blackstone Bay area. LOTS of glaciers, icebergs, beauty, etc. Something to consider if you can work it into your plans. Search "Blackstone Bay Kayaking" for many operators with varying prices and lengths of trips.
I will send some good threads to the top to help with your planning. Good luck!

Also, I strongly recommend you do a search with "Alaska" highlighted and the name of each area you want to visit in the dialog box. You can also search some of the resident experts names, like repete, BudgetQueen, etc., and read the wealth of information they have shared on this board. You can also search "trip report" and get great ideas regarding what worked and didn't work for other travelers. I sent a recent "best of" list to the top so you could see what a lot of folks consider some of the best things to do/see in Alaska.
Enjoy your honeymoon! You'll love Alaska!

I'd check with BudgetQueen first, but staying in the park a few nights sounds like the best way to spend part of your Alaskan honeymoon to me.

Oops, thought I was on the other thread you posted on, Top 10 Alaska To-Do.
Anyway, I'd ask experienced Fodorites about the advantages of staying in DNP. We stayed at the Denali Lakeview Inn in Healy and loved it, but there may be better options for a honeymoon.

Here are three great places for lodging I have personally seen and can recommend in Homer in order of what might be best for a honeymoon: The Double Eagle, Alaska Cottage, and Alaskan Suites. Kachemak Bay Wilderness Lodge across the bay from Homer sounds like something you might be interested in. You can find out more about all of these by going to the Homer Chamber of Commerce web site www.homeralaska.org
There are many fishing charter outfits available along the Homer Spit. We used Captain Mike and can highly recommend him. Also, Rainbow Boat Tour out of Homer is something you might want to consider if wildlife viewing and perhaps seeing whales is of interest to you.
Emerald Air is highly recommended for bear viewing.
