Airlines within Hawaii - which do you prefer?

Which airline do folks prefer for flying between islands - Hawaiian, Mesa, another? We want to do an air/car package.

Hawaiian Air sort of bugged me because twice they weighed my bag at 6 to 8 pounds more than both American and Island Air did. Clearly their scales were wrong. They wanted to charge me extra or i had to take out some stuff and carry it. I did the latter.

The interisland airlines are relatively similar/competitive as far as fares and scheduling, at least to the major airports.

Many locals prefer to fly Hawaiian (if not outright refusing to ever fly Go!) because of Go!'s shady business practices and the role they played in the demise of Aloha Airlines.

I like the bigger planes and convenient airport locations of Hawaiian Airlines.

I prefer go Mokulele airline that recently merged. While on vacation in Hawaii we traveled to several islands. The inter island trip was very pleasant. www.iflygo.com

Hawaiian ranks number 1 or 2 of all airlines in the country most years for their customer service, on-time record and safety practices. Their planes are very modern and nice as well.
As cheapr said, many locals will not fly Go/Mokulele. Their business practices when trying to destroy Aloha left a lot of people questioning their adherence to maintenance and other Federal standards.

I wanted to try both for my HNL-KOA roundtrip, but Go! canceled my flight 3 days before departure, so I couldn't compare.

But if for the same price, I won't even consider Go! next time.

To me
All inter island flights are Greyhound buses with wings and POG juice, so I take the most convenient schedule

Anyone have any comments / opinions on Island Air? We are thinking of using them for HNL-KOA inter-island flights this summer.

Thanks.

They are fine, but use small planes, if that makes any difference to you...

Great, thanks lcuy. That's why we thought we'd try them this time around. My hubby and I are both private pilots and we fly 4 seaters all the time.... so a 37 seater is not small at all to us. Thanks again.
