Tuscanlifeedit- what do you like about tea at the Plaza? The Lowell and The Plaza were both on my short list as well. I'm having a hard time deciding between the two. I want something slightly more interesting food wise, but My 15 year old daughter is less adventurous, so we'd like something in the middle.

Cjar-I know what you mean. My daughter is 16 so not an adventurous eater!

Krystyna- thanks for letting me hop on your thread. We also looked at the Oriental which is supposed to have amazing views of Central Park and there was a place in Greenwich Village (east village?) that I looked at but we were trying to stay uptownish. It might have been Podunk. The Pierre and Bosie Tea parlor also offer afternoon tea.

I just think The Plaza would be fun for me. It's big, it's famous, it's lively but fancy.

Afternoon tea at the Metropolitan Museum is very nice.

We enjoyed a lovely tea at the St. Regis a few years ago.

My namesake, an aspiring ballerina, and I are celebrating her 13th birthday by attending a Misty Copeland performance of Swan Lake. We are staying at the Plaza so I will book us for a celebratory tea.

First time, do the Plaza; after that, the St. Regis, and after that, Alice's Tea Cup (east side or west).

If you want another more casual tea experience Alice's Tea Cup is really cute. You can order the tea service that includes two pots of tea, sandwiches, and scones. There's three different locations in Manhattan so you can pick where is more convenient. Might be a fun stop for lunch out as well.
