Aerial Tours of the Wave
I have been searching online looking for an aerial tour group (preferably biplane) that will fly us over The Wave , and that area. I can find Bryce Canyon and Ziopn tours, which we are hiking, but not for this area. I thought perhaps the airport in Kanab would have them, but, no.
Does anyone know ?
I read it is not prohibited.
TIA, Ellen

I dont know of anyone who does aerial tours of this area. It is very remote. Plus some places are not best appreciated from the air. I honestly dont think you would get much out of it and end up thinking, whats the big deal? Apply for a permit and hope to get lucky.

There are biplane and cessna planes that tour out of kanab to Zion and Bryce.

The only one to go to The Wave is out of Az. No where near where we will be. Thought I'd just ask in case anyone knew....
we have physical limitations that would prevent us from hiking there even if we did gain access.

Add me to the group that is not happy with flights over hiking areas!!! I just spent a week backpacking in the Grand Canyon. I didn't realize when I signed up for the trip that we would be hiking for close to three days through the Dragon flight corridor. Geez louise!! It is like the opening scene from Apocalypse Now--helicopter after helicopter. Noisy and obnoxious. And what do you really see?????? It all looks flat from way up there. ugh.

Dukey - don't be such a (can't use the word cuz it would get me booted off) . . . I wasn't proved ANYTHING, right, wrong, whatever. I said I can't imagine they would allow it, and I still can't BTW. I did not say I knew one way or be other. And it is a shame if hey do . . .
They don't allow them over the national park sections of the GC for example. The non protected parts, then you get what Stanton Hyde described . . .
