advantage/disadvantage to electronic ticketing?

Advantages:
1. cheaper for the airline;
2. no piece of paper to misplace (see other thread on lost Delta voucher!)
3. as part of a well designed operation can reduce processing time (e.g., Continental Airlines - best in the business, IMHO)
4. Easy to keep records for business travel
5. less chance of ticket theft
Disadvantages:
1. If you have a system crash and don't back up appropriately can lose information
2. No souvenir ticket to paste in scrapbook
3. Fear of change

It is my understanding that if your flight is cancelled and you must change to another airline..that your e-ticket may not be accepted by the other airline.
You would have to stand in line with original airline,,to get a ticket/voucher which would be accepted by other airline.
