Advantage Car Rental at DFW?

I can rent a car from Advantage for 18 days for $149 less than the next cheapest rate ($586 vs. $735).

Is Advantage a reputable company that will give us good service, or should we bite the bullet and stick with Hertz (from whom we have a deal as good as we can get from Thrifty or Dollar).

PS I can get a car from Hertz for $500 if I book outside DFW and return the car to DFW. However, we want to hit the road the minute we land, and we don't want to mess around with a taxi to an off-site rental office.

Which size are you looking for? I just checked Expedia for Nov 1-18 and saw compact for about $420 for Advantage.
The company I will never use again is Fox.

I'm looking for mid-size. Does the compact price include all the airport taxes and fees?

How far outside dfw? Can you give a location?

I would have no problem renting from Advantage.

You can also check in mach5cars also, they provide very cheap price for hiring a car. I got this information from the following URL while I search a limo for my brothers marriage ceremony and I satisfied by their service

The URL is: http://www.mach5cars.com/

There's only a couple car rental places that get bad-mouthed but Advantage is not one of them.

Thanks. I checked for the first 18 days in November and got the same rate you got for the Aveo at Advantage. However, when I entered November 23-December 11 the rate went to $569 for the economy car and $586 for the mid-size car we want.

However, by sending me to Expedia you helped me find a deal at Alamo--a Corolla for $644 from Alamo, which is $58 more than Advantage (a company that worries me) and $91 less than the best deal I could get from Hertz.

I'll keep working on this.

We've rented from Advantage in the past and they are fine. The bigger issue for me would be renting outside DFW and having to get there!! Especially if you want to hit the road right away, I just would not want to do that!

We've had great luck using Hotwire for rental cars. Out of the Tampa airport we ended up with a Hertz car each time. It is more or less blind bidding. You bid on the size car you want and location, (in airport or out), you can see the price, just not the company until you complete your selection. It is a considerable savings, and we've never been disappointed!!

Tracys2cents, Thanks for news of Advantage ownership

And, OO, thanks for sharing your experiences with Hotwire. I noted the Hotwire deal at DFW and have been tempted to go for it when the date or our arrival at DFW draws near.
