Does anyone know which one gives more accurate weather forecast: accuweather or weather.com?

I'm looking ahead the next 10 to 15 days for Alaska, and they gave me totally opposite reports. Accuweather predicts no rain and sometimes sunny weather whereas weather.com says rain, rain, rain!

I cannot test them out where I live because the weather here is like perfect climate controlled!

Checked my zip code - looks like weather.com is more accurate, but you never know!

While I try to tell myself no one can predict the weather...until we wake up....I relied on weather.com for forecasts for my trip to Sweden, Copenhagen and Iceland - I just returned a few days ago...and it was wrong for every day I was there.

I checked weather.com right up until five hours before I left for the airport and the forecast hadn't changed for four days and they were calling for clouds, rain and maybe low 60 for my entire trip in Stockholm & Copenhagen....and clouds and showers in Iceland....I waited until the final hour, but adjusted the suitcase and took out several lighter clothing and replaced with warmer and longer sleeve ....Well, you guessed it, - it was bright, sunny, and warm enough for cotton pants and a short sleeve jersey my entire time in Stockholm, with perhaps a light sweater at night and not a drop of rain or a cloud in the sky.....we were sunbathing during lunches at waterside cafes......and it rained only one out of 3 of the copenhagen days and was glorious in Iceland.....
so I think I'll try accuweather next time.....

I did a lot of rinsing out of tops,and never wore other things...but if anyone has a better up to the minute web site, I'd love to know it, b/c weather.com blew it totally on this one.

I just generally check both and hope that at least they bound the problem. Sometimes one is better than the other, and sometimes that flip flops. I don't think you can count on either one, so be prepared for both.

I wouldn't expect any forecast 10 to 15 days out to be even remotely accurate. Just computer-generated gobblygook.

I've found that any forecast out past 3-4 days is almost guesswork. Weather.com seems to be reasonably accurate for short forecasts, but lately I've preferred this one:

It is impossible to predict West Coast weather 10-15 days out. A few months ago I heard a University of Washington meteorologist (on our local NPR station) say that the only time to put faith in a local (Seattle) weather forecast is when all four local TV stations and both newspapers are in complete agreement.

I've used accuweather and weather.com to plan winter trips to California and Arizona, and they have always been wrong.

The forecast that predicts rain in Alaska is more realistic than the one that doesn't.

http://www.nws.noaa.gov/ has been the most accurate for me.

weather.com predicted rain for the duration of our trip to the southwest, and we actually experienced rain only in Salt Lake City, on our way home. Not a drop in California, Arizona, New Mexico, or southern Utah.

I put my faith in the National Weather Service site with the red ribbon going to www.unisys.com.

Try www.intellicast.com If I were to choose between Accuweather and weather.com I would go with weather.com Wait and get your data 2 days prior to your departure.

If weather.com predicts rain for the Seattle area, I figure the chances for a dry day are pretty good. They consistently over-predict precipitation (we had the same experience with the southwest...they predicted rain for most of our trip and we had rain one half-day in Salt Lake City.

Friends in construction I have say that they use accuweather.com to schedule their concrete pours. I use accuweather.

Of course, 2 weeks out, there's almost no certainty.
