directions LAX to Palm Springs

I am flying into LAX tomorrow morning and will rent a car and drive to Palm Springs. What will be the quickest route based on traffic pattern/volume if I leave LAX about noon and what will be the quickest route coming back on a Sunday afternoon. Map quest is telling me to go 105 to 605N to 60 but it appears I could just as easily do 105 to 605S to 91. Thanks for the help!

Either route is fine, when you hit the 105 just turn on 1070 a.m radio for a while, traffic every 10 minutes and you might hear of a jam-up to avoid on either the 60 or the 91. The 91 is probably more apt to have a hold-up.

If you have a smart phone or a pad or a laptop and can get online, go to this site for traffic conditions. Should be good at noon, but accidents can happen. And 1070 (KNX) is a good idea.

Noon time you shouldn't have traffic jam on fwys, unless accident.
105 East, 605N, 60 East best route

Amen to the above responses, and 105 is just immediately south of Century (the street to LAX) - off the 405. Amen Dos for listening to AM 1070 - which will let you know what's happening on the freeways. If you can get it - the LA Freeway map from the Auto Clubs is excellent.
