How old are you? What do you like to do? LA is huge! Where are you staying? Will you have a car? Will you be alone? What kind of food do you like? WHen are you coming?

Los Angeles is a fabulous place - my home. There is so much to do that it would be great to have more information to help you best.

I'm 21, my friend is 21 and my boyfriend will be 23 - we're all going. I'd have to say we all like to travel with an Anthropologist's point of view - go there and be the native. We're from the east coast and we want to experience an un-touristy s. Cali. and we DON'T want to go out looking for famous people!!! We don't have any rooms booked as of yet, because we're still unsure of our plans. We wanted to catch a Leno show one night (I've sent out for tickets). We arrive at LAX on Mon. All three of us have mon-weds to do whatever, then my boyfriend has a R/C car race in Aliso Viejo from Wed-Sun so for this time we'll be staying in Orange County - but my friend and I have all week to do whatever. Yes, we will have a car. I like any kind of food - my favorite is Italian. My friend and I would be happy to survive off Jamba Juice - we don't have any out here but they make THE best smoothies. That's all we had the last time we were out there (Sacramento). We'll be there May 20-27. I appreciate your interest in giving us some ideas
Thanks, Emily

Stay in the Beverly Hills/ Westwood area and you can probably squeeze in the Getty Museum on your day of arrival or the next morning. (Holiday Inn Bel Air is a good choice, or the Brentwood Motor Hotel). All in one day/night you can tour sunset strip, Hollywood, Walk of Fame/Chinese Theatre, do the Leno show (get in line at 3:45pm), and also go to the Griffith Park Observatory (watch Rebel without a Cause before your trip) and maybe even take in a performance at the Hollywood Bowl or Greek Theatre.

The aquarium in Long Beach is nice, and beaches of Laguna and Del Mar.

Steve Martin's L.A. Story is also a good view before your trip also the newer flick "Crazy Beautiful" gives you a good feel for L.A.

Griffith Park Observatory is currently closed for renovation and won't be open for a few years.

Laguna Beach, Balboa Island and Newport Beach should fit your needs while in South Orange County. You'll likely find less expensive lodging in Dana Point or San Clemente than some of the other beach areas.
