A New Dog

My wife and I are trying to put a 4 day vacation around picking up our new dog in
Charlotte N.C. We are coming from Ohio. We are thinking of going to the Wilmington area for some beach time before picking up the dog and heading home. Any suggestions?

You might want to repost with the name of your destination in the title. Hope you get some good suggestions.

No, this is the real deal We are getting a bloodhound from a breeder outside of Charlotte N.C. but, first looking for a place between Morehead City and Wilmington for 3-4 days of relaxation

Tess, the pup will be nine weeks when we pick him up in two weeks. How about Morehead City for a few days before we pick him up ? Or should it be Wilmington ? And what about a name for our new bloodhound pup? Any suggestions?

"And what about a name for our new bloodhound pup? Any suggestions?" sorry but I just HAVE to steal Starr's suggestion: name him "Hot Dog"

I think Wilmington is too far away from Charlotte and Ohio to make it a viable stop in a 4 day vacation period. Columbus to Wilmington is a 10.5 hour drive, and Wilmington is NOT terribly convenient to Charlotte.

I'd do a stop in the NC or WV mountains - perhaps visit Lake Lure in NC if you need a water destination.

Congrats on the new pup! (I vote for naming him Sherman.)

I think "Sherlock" would be a perfect name for a bloodhound.

I know he will be adorable!
