A Holiday Hot Toddie Recipe? Travel Related!
Have you ever gotten a recipe for hot holiday toddies while traveling? I have. One of my girlfriends in Chicago gave me this quick and easy recipe that makes you whole house smell like the holidays.
One gallon Apple Cider
Two cups dark Spiced Rum (Captain Morgan's)
15 Cinnamon Sticks (the spice kind)
Combine all ingredients in pot on stove and heat to just before boiling. Turn down on low and keep there as like as you would like. Add addtional apple cider and rum when mixture gets low. Refridgerate when not used.
We like to keep it on the stove during the holidays and refridgerate at night.

How about a Tom & Jerry? I have a friend who always makes them at a New Year's party.
Tom & Jerry
1 oz. Dark Rum
1 oz. Brandy
1 Egg
1 tsp. Sugar
6 oz. Hot water
Separate egg in two bowls. Add Rum & Brandy to the yolk and beat together until frothy. In the other bowl beat the egg white until it peaks then add sugar and beat until stiff. Fold into the liqour mixture. Pour into a coffee mug and top with the hot water.

Anyone have a good Bloody Mary recipe?
While visiting my sister at Randolph-Macon in Lynchburg, Va, there was this great little tavern next door called Trotters or Carriage or something and they had the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had! They made their own mix.
Anyone?
