A good website for New York dining pre/post theater

Just happened on a website for the often mentioned "Restaurant Row" (46th between 8th-9th aves.)in NYC. Someone has cleverly listed, in one place, all the restaurants on the block with photos of many of them. There's also a neat map (click "what's nearby") that shows where many of the shows are playing in relation to this street. Unfortunately, some of the restaurants that we suggest most often like Joe Allen's, Lattanzi and Orso do not have separate listings or photos (I guess they feel they don't need to & they're probably right).

Just a heads up, the illustration you see on the home page is looking from 9th ave looking east toward 8th, so the first restaurants listed (like Hourglass Tavern) are actually at the END of the block, rather than at the beginning, if you were walking from Broadway. Hope I haven't thoroughly confused the issue

Hope this helps

Hi mclaurie, I copied and pasted and only got a blue screen...but I persevered and googled it. I found the Trattoria Dopo Teatro web site and it looked terrific...do you know about it? Can't wait to go to NYC.

Hi Judyrem. Sorry you had problems with the link. I do know Trat. Dopo and I would suggest instead Trattoria Trecolori on 45th betw 6-7th for better food, better service and less expensive. The often mentioned Becco on rest. row is also very good Italian at a decent price ($21.95 pasta dinner special). Here's another link to that website to try on the Becco page.

Thanks for the website info. The last time I was in NYC, I went to Mason Sevilla and I loved it. They have Italian and Spanish style food and they have a great tapas selection. Their calamari was delicious! Michelle

I was down in NYC this past weekend and tried two Italian restaurants that were mentioned on this message board. Went to Trattorio Dopo Teatro and Trattorio Trecolori (both in the theatre district) and agree with Mclaurie. Trattorio Trecolori on W. 45th Street had better food, better service and was less expensive. I had the Chicken Marsala and it was EXCELLENT and I used to wait tables in an Italian Restaurant!!! My friend had the Tiramisu for dessert and I sampled it. It was delicious! Defeinetely will go back there next time I'm in NYC!!!

Aremorra,
Did you need reservations for Trattorio Trecolori?

Aremorra, glad you liked Trattoria Trecolori! Sandy, it probably couldn't hurt to make reservations if you're nervous, but I've gone there pre-show without a reservation and was able to get a table without a problem.

Sunny,
Thanks! That's good to know I am making reservations for BECCO, and I've made one for Le Madeleine, but didn't really want to make any more reservations, just in case we're busy in another area, and don't want to leave. Glad to know you've been able to get a table with no problem.
